Every step of an appointment here, in order, so you know what your child is walking into before they walk into it.
Plenty of children arrive having already decided they hate this. Kenna has spent eight of her thirteen years on kids specifically, including kids who are shy, non-verbal, or anxious about the noise, and the room was built around that rather than around the haircut.
Here is the order it happens in.

You park and come in
Suite 10, in the strip at 6651 N Oak Trafficway. The door is glass and covered in paint splat decals, and kids usually spot the cars through it before you have the handle open.

They choose the car
There is a yellow truck, a pink convertible, an orange race car and a green dinosaur you sit on. They pick. This is the part that does most of the work, because a child who chose to climb into something is not being put into a chair.
If they want to sit in your lap instead, that is fine too, and it is not unusual.

Something goes on the screen
Each station has its own TV at eye level, so they are looking at that and not at the mirror. If a sibling came along there are two game stations facing each other, which keeps the second child occupied and out of the conversation.

Something to hold
A pop-it tray goes across the front of the car. Hands that are busy are hands that are not going up to their head, and it gives a child who does not want to talk something to do instead of answering questions.

The cut goes at their speed

Sensory haircuts, same price
$25, exactly the same as any other cut, so nothing about needing a gentler appointment costs you extra. There is no age limit on it and no minimum age either. Say so when you book so Kenna knows before you arrive rather than when you are standing in the door.

Sticker, sucker, and the toy wall
Every haircut ends with a sticker, a sucker, and their choice of a small toy or a balloon. Choosing off the wall reliably takes longer than the haircut did. Build it into your afternoon.

$25Boys and girls, any age, and there is no age limit at the top either.
Sensory haircut
$25The same price. The difference is in how the appointment is booked, not in what it costs.
First haircut package
$35.95Before and after photo, a scrapbook page, lockets of their hair, sticker, sucker, a small knick knack toy and a balloon.
Mommy or daddy duo
$45One adult and one child, back to back. Going first yourself is often the thing that settles them.
Three kids booked together takes $10 off the total.
Spike & Splat
An add-on, $2.50, sprayed over the finished cut or worked into a braid. It washes out that night. Offered at the end, once the haircut is already over and nobody is negotiating.
